It’s very important to think about the problem you are solving in the terms of how long the problem will exist.  To ensure you have a fundable idea you need to project just how long the problem will be around.  I suggest the minimum time period is 5 years.  Obviously the longer the better.  If it takes you an year to get your product into the market then you have at least 4 years to receive revenue.  Any problem that has a life of less than 5 years isn’t worth pursing from an investor perspective.
